If
you've been putting off much-needed dental work for a
long time out of fear of pain, fear no more. Led by our
director, Dr. Dennis P. Saller, the Center for Adult
Dentistry team is specially trained in soothing sedation
dentistry.
Sedation dentistry has several advantages: It is easy to
administer, is safe and simple to monitor, works well
for most patients and is an affordable way to
temporarily relieve dental fear, anxiety and phobia. It
can also be of help to patients who have problems with
getting numb.
And last but not least, with sedation dentistry you can
get more dental treatments in one visit since you are
comfortable and at-ease. Because of this, sedation
dentistry is a favorite of our patients in need of full
mouth reconstruction.
You can walk into our office with unsightly metal
fillings, chipped, broken or stained teeth or spaces
between teeth and walk out with the smile you've always
wanted. All while having enjoyed the most comfortable
dental experience of your life in the process.
HOW SEDATION DENTISTRY
WORKS
You'll take a pill prescribed by use before your dental
visit. When you arrive at our office, you will still be
awake but feeling very drowsy. It is very important you
have someone drive you to and from your dental
appointment for this reason.
Sedation dentistry is not a pain reliever but a
relaxant. We will still use local anesthetic to relieve
pain, but because you will be in a state of deep
relaxation, you probably won't feel or remember a thing.
When we are finished working on your smile, your friend
or family member will drive you home, where you can
continue snoozing. After you have fully awakened, you
should be free from the stress you normally have after a
dental appointment. |
