Wow!  Can you believe how time flies?  Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the holiday season is kicking off.  I have to say that this has to be my favorite time of year.  The weather is just right, people are contagious with holiday cheer and it's a time to spend with my family and friends. 

In the month of November, we get to celebrate our appreciation for all that we have.  The Thanksgiving feast at Plymouth was a tradition of celebrating the harvest and giving thanks for a successful cropping season.  Today, I believe it is a celebration of giving thanks for all that has been provided to us: our family, the roof over our head, the clothes on our backs, our freedom, etc.  I hope this Thanksgiving you take the time to reflect and give thanks for all that has been provided in your life.  Enjoy spending time with your family and friends this Thanksgiving.

The end of the year is just around the corner and if you have dental insurance, be sure to take advantage of your benefits now.  If you don't use them, you'll lose them!  Most dental insurance plans run on a calendar year, beginning January 1st and ending December 31st.  If this describes your plan, you may want to make your next appointment before the end of the year so that you can take advantage of your insurance benefits.

 

• Most dental plans cover approximately $1000 to $2500 a year in coverage.  However, if you do not use them by the end of the year, you will lose the remaining amount and they will not rollover.
• If you are paying your dental insurance premiums every month, you should be taking full advantage of the benefits.  You should have regular dental cleanings to help prevent and detect any early signs of decay, cavities, gum disease, oral cancer or any other dental problems.
• If you are delaying any dental treatment now, you may find the problem worsen later on down the road.  What would be a simple procedure now could turn into a more intensive and expensive procedure if it is ignored. 
   

Review your benefits package and call your dental insurance company today.  Become informed of the benefits you have with your coverage and take advantage of those benefits before the end of the year!
