Dear Whitney,
|
Wow! Can you
believe how time
flies?
Thanksgiving is
just around the
corner and the
holiday season
is kicking off.
I have to say
that this has to
be my favorite
time of year.
The weather is
just right,
people are
contagious with
holiday cheer
and it's a time
to spend with my
family and
friends.
In the month of
November, we get
to celebrate our
appreciation for
all that we
have. The
Thanksgiving
feast at
Plymouth was a
tradition of
celebrating the
harvest and
giving thanks
for a successful
cropping
season. Today,
I believe it is
a celebration of
giving thanks
for all that has
been provided to
us: our family,
the roof over
our head, the
clothes on our
backs, our
freedom, etc. I
hope this
Thanksgiving you
take the time to
reflect and give
thanks for all
that has been
provided in your
life. Enjoy
spending time
with your family
and friends this
Thanksgiving.
I want you to
know that I am
thankful to have
you as my
patient.
Happy
Thanksgiving!

Take Advantage of
Your Dental Benefits
Now!
|
The end of the
year is just
around the
corner and if
you have dental
insurance, be
sure to take
advantage of
your benefits
now.
If you don't use
them, you'll
lose them!
Most dental
insurance plans
run on a
calendar year,
beginning
January 1st and
ending December
31st. If this
describes your
plan, you may
want to make
your next
appointment
before the end
of the year so
that you can
take advantage
of your
insurance
benefits.
- Most
dental plans
cover
approximately
$1000 to
$2500 a year
in
coverage.
However, if
you do not
use them by
the end of
the year,
you will
lose the
remaining
amount and
they will
not
rollover.
- If you
are paying
your dental
insurance
premiums
every month,
you should
be taking
full
advantage of
the
benefits.
You should
have regular
dental
cleanings to
help prevent
and detect
any early
signs of
decay,
cavities,
gum disease,
oral cancer
or any other
dental
problems.
- If you
are delaying
any dental
treatment
now, you may
find the
problem
worsen later
on down the
road. What
would be a
simple
procedure
now could
turn into a
more
intensive
and
expensive
procedure if
it is
ignored.
Review your
benefits package
and call your
dental insurance
company today.
Become informed
of the benefits
you have with
your coverage
and take
advantage of
those benefits
before the end
of the year!
If you find that
you have not
taken full
advantage of
your benefits
please call our
office at
321.259.0866 and
we will try our
best to
accommodate your
dental needs and
your schedule.

Invisible
Benefits in Praise
of White Fillings
|
White composite
fillings are to
silver fillings
what CDs are to
vinyl records.
Traditional
silver fillings
do the job, but
white,
contemporary
composites are
also long
lasting and have
more benefits
over the silver
fillings that so
many of you have
in your mouth.
What are the
benefits of
these white
fillings?
Actual Patient
with Composites
-
Smile with
confidence.
No more will
you have to
worry about
those dark,
gray teeth
in your
photographs
of your
smile.
Where silver
fillings
make your
tooth
darker,
white
fillings
give your
tooth a
natural
look.
-
Smile with
assurance.
Every old
silver
filling that
I have
removed from
a tooth has
had some
"leakage"
around it.
Just as all
of us know
about water
leakage in a
house and
how much
damage it
causes, when
an old
silver
filling
leaks, it
destroys the
surrounding
tooth
structure
and more
tooth has to
be removed
to repair
the damage.
White
fillings
bond to the
tooth
structure
and help
prevent
leakage
around the
filling.
-
Smile with
strength.
Composite
fillings
bond to
tooth
structure to
help prevent
breaking and
insulate
from
temperature
changes.
This
strengthens
teeth and
reduces the
risk of
tooth cracks
due to
expansion
and
contraction
properties
of silver
fillings.
-
Smile with
security.
White
fillings
have a more
accurate fit
which
effectively
seals out
bacteria.
-
Smile
without
worry.
Even though
silver
fillings
have
never
been related
to mercury
poisoning,
why place
anything in
your mouth
that has
people
concerned?
And why
place
something in
your mouth
that the
technology
has not been
updated for
many, many
years?
Call our office
to see what we
can do to help
you eliminate
those old,
"nasty"
fillings. You

before and after
pictures of
white fillings

What is the
Rota-dent?
|
|
Many of you own
a Rota-dent
toothbrush but
for those of you
who have not yet
purchased one,
you may want to
consider adding
this to your
daily dental
care. The
Rota-dent is an
electric
toothbrush and
is currently one
of the most
effective
at-home oral
hygiene
instruments for
plaque removal,
as confirmed in
university
studies. Only
the Rota-dent
toothbrush has
patented
microfilament
brush tips
designed to
reach under the
gum line and in
between the
teeth. The
Rota-dent
instrument is
powered by a
rechargeable
battery and is
dispensed in
dental offices
only. Used on a
daily basis, the
Rota-dent
instrument
reduces plaque
and greatly
improves oral
health.
If you are
interested in
purchasing the
Rota-dent or
have questions,
please feel free
to call our
office at
321.259.0866 or
ask your
hygienist the
next time you
are in for your
cleaning.
